Why doesn't my 3ds turn on?

my 3ds didn't fall or anything but i turned it on a couple days ago and it came on for about five minutes and turned of and won't come back on i put it on charge and the charge light came on but my 3ds never got any of charge because the light never went out while it was on charge i took it off charge and the charge light went off but the system never came on.

what do i do to fix it?
