Xbox One no wifi connection wireless or wired -Please Help!

While playing on my machine I lost internet connection. I did the usual checks and there was no problem with any other equipment in the house connecting. I have rebooted and after that reset the system and nothing has worked. As I have reset the system I am now locked out of the machine altogether as the machine needs to connect to the internet during initial set up. I now get a message saying there is a hardware failure.

I have repaired DS’s PS3’s etc. and so quite willing to open her up but looking for some guidance.

Is this likely to be a WIFI board failure? From the teardown here I see the WIFI board is connected to the RF board, is it that that may have failed? If it could be either is there a test I can do? Finally I have check out eBay and none of these parts are available there so any ideas where they can be purchased? Any and all help gratefully received.

Many thanks Dan

I know this post is kind of old but all you have to do is unplug it from the wall for about 30 secs..plug it back up and it'll be working

I'm guessing no one knows an answer to this one mate as no reply to my first question in 3 days.

Guess I'm just going to investigate blind.

Wish me luck :)

Ok I have tried and a different test and working WiFi Board which made no difference (wasted £30.00). I have tried a working RF Board and still no solution.

I am next going to reflow the Realtek RTL 8151GNM Ethernet Controller chip - wish me luck :/

Can you tell us more about what you did?

Hi Dan, can I just ask a question.did you use thermal paste for the reflow? Or just direct Heat? I have the same problem. Your help would be really appreciated, thanks

What's reflow?

I opened my system and my wifi card was bend and a tiny piece from the corner snapped off... Would that affect the wired Ethernet connection as well since I can't get internet either thru wifi or Ethernet

Did you manage to fix this fault mate? have same and its got me totally puzzled?

Hi guys I had to reflow the Realtek RTL 8151GNM Ethernet Controller chip.

You can search reflow and the chip on Google. If you are not comfortable reflowing you may need to take it to a repairs workshop. Good luck.

HI Dan

thanks for the reply.Did you use a heat gun or the oven method? and for how long ?i tried a heat gun on rtl chip but only for a minute.when connected to a wired dynamode adapter can see it connected to virgin superhub but still says on xbox screen "there's a hardware problem" also noted cant sync controller so wonder if RF board fault is affecting it as well.

cheers

Hi Tom, I used a hot air work station I have. Cannot remember how long I applied the heat but would guess a couple of mins at about 300c. The only problem I had was not connecting to wifi so not really experienced your other problems.

Sorry can't be of more help - Dan

Well I had this problem but I fixed it. What I did was I ordered from ebay the wireless/bluetooth card and i changed it by my self and it worked. Check on youtube how to open your xbox and stuff.

I have couple notes here

1. Opening your xbox will ruin your warranty just incase you didn't know.

2. You'll need a security screw driver. But maybe you can help your self with a flat screwdriver. I read that some people did it.

3. I ordered the wifi/bluetooth CARD not the antenna.

I think the hardware problem is just a pile of poop. I went to game shop 4 times and said they can't do anything' I have insurance' then I ask them to check and it works fine so I tested it at my house and it's crap. I plugged in a ithernet cable and tried it it was fine. Then the controller disconnected and then I thought grate so what I done is recorded everything and going to show them tomorrow..... ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE
