do you need to replace the foil tape/top & bottom covers?

When replacing the screen I understand that you have to remove the top and bottom covers with the heater and you peel back the foil tape around the motherboard. My question is, do those three things need to be replaced? Or can I reuse them?

I have repaired this model. I was able to reuse the foil tape and both covers. I assume you are talking about the covers on the front of the phone for the top and bottom speakers. As long as you remove the tape and other adhesives carefully they should stay in one piece and still have enough adhesion to reuse. If one is not careful pulling up the foil tape on the motherboard, they can easily damage the ribbon cables that attach to the logic boards connections, which are under the tape.

There are some good guides on this site and Youtube which can help in this repair process. Good luck with your repair.

Thanks! I've been researching but haven't seen anything referring to that, just wanted to make sure before I place my order. I'll definitely be watching the video as I am disassembling it haha
