Why isn't my flash working?

Even in the darkness, my flash isn't functioning to make bright photos. I have the settings how they should be, but nothing is helping. What could be the problem?

  • The flash is not turned on. Turn the flash setting on. There is typically a manual setting.
  • The bulb is burned out. A replacement is needed.
  • The wires between the battery source and flash may be disconnected. They must be reconnected.

There could be a couple of different reasons. Most likely, it's an issue with the settings on your camera. On the top dial, turn it to an automatic setting so the camera will do the focusing for you. If that doesn't work, it could be an internal issue that will require replacement or repair.
