I apparently disconnected the hard drive ribbon connector along wit the logic board connector. Is there any way to reconnect the hard drive to the logic board or will I have to purchase a new logic board and a hard drive connector?

The connector on the logic board came off along with the hard drive connector. It looks like Ineed a logic board along with a new battery.!

well, if you don't know anybody who is able to do that repair - your only chance is to replace the broken parts.

What happend exactly ?
is only the hdd connector broken or is the connector on the logic board broken or both?
a new (old) logicboard is expensive - so i think this is not an option, but you can always try to find an iPod on ebay for parts - it most of the time the cheapest way
