Why is my iPod showing 25gb's instead of 60gb's?

Recently reset the 4th generation A1099 iPod because of issues being frozen. Upgraded the iTunes, and it reset the iPod according to the online instructions step by step. When all was completed, the iPod info (about) showed 25gb's capacity and 25gb's Total...This iPod is actually 60gb's Total not 25gb's. Why is this and if I missed something like formatting OR Did this reset cause this info because of it Partioning without me knowing it?

Thank You Kallen, South Carolina

Kenny Allen, could be a bad hard drive (bad sectors). you could try a full restore under iTunes and see if that makes a difference. Otherwise I'd suggest to get a Zif Adapter to connect your hard drive to a computer and reformat. See what your computer will report when formatting the drive.

Replaced the hard drive with a Brand New One (60gb's)...reinstalled iTunes and it still says the same 25 Total 25gbs Available...My understanding going thru chkdsk e/ f shows this drive is FAT format...Should this be NTSB

a replacement iPod hard drive does not require any special formatting or filesystem preparation. Definitely not NTSB (National Transportation Safety board) and also not NTFS (windows)
