replacement ssd (used) password

After upgrading my macbook air ssd with a larger (used) drive, it requests a password to boot up. How can I rest this?

You will need to boot up under an external drive to then delete the partitions on your new SSD. Then you can create new ones and re-install the OS and your Apps.

Sadly, there is no external USB case to house your SSD unit (new or old) presently. That would have been another way which the older MBA could use.
