Extract data from an iPhone 4 which can't connect with a cable?

My iPhone 4 has recently stopped charging. I have tried multiple cables, cleaned it out and taken it to apple who say there is no way to fix it. I was wondering if there was some way to take the iPhone apart and connect the hard drive to my computer to extract the files from it.

Answer this question I have this problem too

Did Apple just say it couldn't be fixed without taking it apart?

They tryed this trick on a customer that took the iPhone 4 to me insead and a simple replace of the charging port fixed it..

Apple staff a drilled for sales sales sales there not worried if you phone is broken they will say it's not repairable just so you might purchase a new one..

I say go to a repair shop or try the fix yourself it cheap and simple

You are incorrect about Apple staff training. The reality is that those parts are not available to support employees, therefore it is not a repair they can offer to a customer.

To the original poster, if you are comfortable taking apart your device you can try unplugging the battery, sometimes a bad battery can cause a phone to not boot up. That is a simple and free check you can do at home.
