Why isn't the pencil sharpener properly sharpening my pencil?

When I use the sharpener, the pencil's point comes out badly off-centered. Or the sharpener is only roughly sharpening my pencil when I try using it. Or my pencil lead keeps breaking instead of sharpening.

This is probably due to a dull or worn cutter or a foreign object being jammed in the pencil bore. To fix this problem, you’ll need to replace the worn or dull cutter blade or unplug the sharpener and try using a narrow tool (e.g. a paperclip) to clear the pencil bore.

I purchased a brand new wall mount X-ACTO KS pencil sharpener. I had the same problem beginning with the very first pencil i tried to sharpen. I find that, today, manufacturers are more concerned with sales rather than quality control. After all, when your sharpener fails to operate properly, you’ll just buy another. You might consider a vintage sharpener on eBay, because those were a quality product for sure,

i noticed this with older sharpeners when the blade gets dull try looking for a replacement cutter if the manufacturer or model supports it, if not replace the whole sharpener with a newer or better model/version, OR you can try to sharpen the blade carefully if it is a vintage sharpener
