Wii U HDMI Problem!

I've heard loads of people having the same problem but so far no answer!

Some wii U are coming with this problem that the T.V doesn't show ANY image at all , so you can't Sync the gamepad with the console since you can't see any symbols at the T.V . The console turns on normally the gamepad too , everything is correct , follow the instruction on the manual step by step ,you try different T.Vs different HDMI cable , try the AV cable but no success ..

So the final solution is to send it back to nintendo to get a new one...

But what if you want to try to fix it by your self?

Can someone please solve the mistery of the bricked wii U's?

Answer this question I have this problem too

Is this a good question?

If it is brand new i would always suggest to send it back to manufacture or the store you purchased it.

This is an old question but this is an issue that a lot of people ask about but no one can provide the answer to. If it's not any of the wireless cards being bad, or loose/unplugged then It's commonly the HDMI IC chip. It's a known issue with the PS4's that as also shown up in the Wii U's. Change the chip(PN=MNB64718) and you should be back up and running.

I agree with Skinner, we have replaced several of these chips. As long as the Wii u wasn't dropped while plugged in or the pins inside the port aren't bent it's probably the HDMI chip gone Bad or not connected to the board properly. Could also be one of the filters on the board by the chip.

Hi Floyd,

Seems like you’ve tried everything I would suggest, but not to insult you, I am assuming that you made sure that the TV selector was set to the proper inputs? (HDMI TO HDMI, AV TO AV,…..) I have done the same thing, only to realize I hadn’t selected the correct input.

I have repaired several Wii U consoles with this same issue, a couple were the HDMI chip, (available online) and several HDMI ports, but sad to say, nothing like what you are describing. Most always you can get the AV cables to work.

One more question, when you connect the console using the HDMI cable, does it have sound?

Thanks.

I put it in a 3 way splitter with a Xbox one and it seems to boost the signal
