Water soaked iPhone 5c won't power up

iPhone battery not showing any voltage. When I plug in the lightning cable, can't read any voltage at the battery connection socket on the charging board.

Questions:

Should the display show the Apple logo when I plug in the lightning cable even though the battery may be dead?

Should I be able to measure voltage at the connection socket on the charging board?

Are there any other test points where I can measure to determine that the charging port board is faulty?

Answer this question I have this problem too

Is this a good question?

When iPhone's are plugged into the mains they do not need battery life for them to show the Apple logo, so you should be seeing the Apple logo when it is plugged in. This means that the phone is not recognizing the lightning cable, try a new cable. It is a common fault on all of the iPhone 5 series that the charging ports go I replace too many a day/week so I would suggest just replacing the charging port as it's most likely to be that plus they don't cost too much.

Sara not really the case...

First off if it was water damaged did you clean the board for corrosion?

9 times out of ten the battery needed replaced and if battery is dead and is still connected to the battery connecter it will not show and apple logo until the battery is removed from the connector

Thanks SaraMai and Con.

Tried to power it up with the lightning cable with the battery unplugged, no logo. Was able to test the lightning cable by charging another phone.

Will remove and check the main board for corrosion before installing replacement parts. Have ordered replacement battery and charging port board.
