HOME and POWER buttons NOT responsive after screen replacement!

I am doing an Apple iPod Touch 4th generation screen replacement and all is great (as in it turns on by being plugged in and can hold a charge like normally) BUT my power/ sleep and home buttons aren't responsive.. the volume buttons are functional as well and it appears (under careful dissection) that nothing is loose or ripped.. please help!

Answer this question I have this problem too

Is this a good question?

If power button isn't going you have damaged the flex have seen this before when it's damaged and the volume still works but power dosent.

As for the home button it is seperate from the power button so you must be damaging then when taking the iPod apart

Yes, thank you. I noticed a very, very small tear in the power flex ribbon.. same exact tear on both iPods.. and the home button flex cables look pretty worn down.. the home button cannot precisely click the black dot on the ribbon since the both are so worn down.. so I guess I am going to have to purchase two home button flex ribbons and two power/ sleep and volume button ribbons. The power and volume buttons are all on one ribbon, correct? Thank you, con!
