Hi,
The charging port isn't soldered to the main board. Replacing is easy, because the charging port is on the flex cable. Look here step 15, pic. 2

But you must have some experience to disassemble the Touch screen & LCD display module. It's held by screws and clips.

Good information here on teardown but does anyone have a suggestion on where to order the replacement port/dock connector? I've looked and I'm getting flooded with 2014 model info. Mine is the 2012 version. Thanks for anything you can share to help.
