PSP 3001, powers on, makes sound, has a backlight, but won't display.

Hello,

I'm finding things that seem close, but not exactly there. Maybe I'm foolish.

The PSP 3001 will turn on, green light, the backlight will turn on, and you hear the "turn on" sounds "Do do do do dee!"

But there's no display. There's nothing to look at. It's just a "bright black screen". Any ideas?

Edit: In fact, just now I put in the Dodgeball movie UMD and it's "playing" Dodgeball. The 20th Century Fox trumpets are going now. So it's really weird. Everything else seems to work, except the display.
