Black screen on Compaq CQ56 startup, no boot

Symptoms:

- Fan is running

- No boot

- Screen remains black

- White caps lock led blinks once every two seconds

- Orange wifi led is on

Any type of reset doesn't help, nor does heat of any kind does the job.

The HP/Compaq led error code calls for a cpu failure. I replaced the cpu and it made no difference.

Any ideas are highly appreciated.
