ASUS S405CM 4GB RAM pre-installed replacement, How to?

Hi,

I own an Asus S405CM also named S46CM running Windows 8.1, in order to increase total amount of RAM I purchased an 8GB corsair Vengeance (DDR3, 1600mhz, SODIMM) as adviced on crucial and corsair websites.

After installing gently the RAM in the secondary slot I was expecting 12GB of RAM, but the both the BIOS and Windows recognised 4GB.

My questions :

- In any way am I missing something, reinstalling Windows 8 ?

- If the BIOS (uptodate with the latest version) only accept 8GB (i.e : Asus vs Crucial nor corsair), how do I replace the pre-installed 4GB RAM stucked inside the laptop (not sealed just 20% accesible) ?

- Ready to tear down the S46CM but How do I remove the back cover ? I was unable to find the tear down on the website ?

Thx in advance

Answer this question I have this problem too

Is this a good question?

Guillaume, you can upgrade your ASUS S46CM Laptop to up to a maximum memory capacity of 8GB Memory To get to the memory you will have to remove the back case.Check this video. It will show you a bit more.

Thx for this quick answer, I saw the video few days ago, what I am still missing is "the hour" the guy spent tearing down the back cover.

I have unscrewed evrything but the back cover remains, I guess I missed a hidden screw or the magic clip that would enable me to lift up so easyly the back cover as it shown on the video.
