My iPod will charge but won't turn on?

My iPod touch was fully charged when I went to bed but when i woke up it was dead. I have tried to charge it but only the dead battery sign shows up and it doesn't change, I have had it on the charger for a day and no progress whatsoever. It doesn't even show up on my itunes. I've tried many different ways to turn it on, but none of them worked. Help please?

Yeah, I have absolutely no clue what to do haha. It's pretty terrifying, I may just have to take it in to Best Buy or something
