Why won't my iPhone 4 start

I have replaced my power flex component as the original component would no longer work. But since replacing this and following the ifixit article guide by the letter the phone no longer powers up at all. Even with the power plugged in. I have tried puting the old componant back in but this has failed As well. Any ideas?

try a hard reset. sometimes these iphones decide to not turn on properly after they have been pulled apart. hold the power button and home button together for at least 15 sec, until you see the apple logo appear.

also i have had issues with the 'button part' (the metal part which you would normally push against) not coming into contact with the actual switch, you should be able to hear a small clicking sound as you push the button in
