iPod got wet, and screen display now barely visible. Solutions?

iPod Nano 4th Generation was put in laundry. Result: Screen display is very poor, no color, difficult to read. Is there a fix for this?

Is your iPod still under warranty? If yes, have it repaired by Apple.

If not take apart your iPod as best you can. This means opening it up, removing the battery, and gently wiping the parts with a cotton swab and alcohol. Once all the parts have been separated, put them in a plastic bag with dry, uncooked rice. Leave these items in the dry rice for about 24 to 48 hours. It is also a good idea to keep the bag in a dry, warm environment. Once the time has elapsed, put your iPod back together and see if it works.

When you take your iPod apart, if you see corrosion on any of the parts, you will need to replace them (usually greenish/whitish stuff on the motherboard or LCD connector). First part I'd try replacing would be the LCD, but if that doesn't work, probably the motherboard is bad.
