screen doesn't work E1405

I have an old Dell laptop E1405. First the screen became pink and worked like that for a long time. Now I get absolutely nothing on the screen. I know that the video card works because if I connect an external monitor I see the picture.

What could that be? The LCD or cable or something else?

dimonsm1, the pink is usually caused by bad CCFL's, very seldom that it is the inverter . You can try and reseat the LVDS cable and see if it makes a difference. Unless you have the tools to test the inverter, I'd start with a either a new panel or replace the CCFL's (if you can get those separate for your model). You can download the service manual from here as well as Dell itself. Hope this helps, good luck.
