Display is flickering, looks like interlacing

Hello everyone,

I got a 2nd gen. iPod Touch 8GB at eBay. Everything seems fine and the device is not older than a year (apple told me that it has hardware support until 15th of june). Software seems jailbreaked (Version 3.0)

My problem: the content on the display looks like interlaced video if I use my fingers to change pages on the home screen. Also the lowest pixel line (next to home button) is flickering, as if the illumination on this line changes rapidly. If I turn off the backlight completely this line is not flickering, thus I consider the displays illumination to be faulty. What do you think?

A time ago I owned a similar device from the late 2008 series. This iPod didn't show this "failure".

Thank you in advance! Björn.

I have send the device to apple since it is supported until mid of june. I leave a message here in case they figured out the reason. Regards, Björn.

The device returned from apple. They told me that the device needs no repair. Iam convinced that there is a difference in display quality between early 09 and late 08 models of the 2G touchs. Could anyone agree on that?
