Touch screen isn't calibrated after replacing screen unit

I'm not able to successfully enter my password to unlock my iPod since replacing the screen because the touch sensitivity doesn't seem to be calibrated correctly. For example, if I try to press the number 8, it enters a 5. But if I press zero (trying to get it to enter an 8), it enters zero. There seems to be no way to get it to enter an 8.

Has anyone had this happen, and if so, what can I do about it?

Answer this question I have this problem too

Sounds like a bad digitizer (front glass piece) or the ribbon cable didn't get plugged into the mainboard properly. If you did the job yourself you should disassemble and make sure the ribbon cable from the digitizer is seated properly in the socket. If you had the repair done at a shop I would take it back and ask them to fix it properly.

First thing though... Try a software restore after backing up your data and see if that cures the issue.
