Replaced Front Assembly, whole row of keys don't work

So i have to say I did a pretty great job of replacing the entire front assembly. Everything seems to work great EXCEPT and entire row of keys on the keyboard don't seem to work at all in portrait mode (middle row A-S-D-F...). Is this a common issue? Every other key works great.

Answer this question I have this problem too

This can happen when the cable is not completely seated into the connector or the connector latch pops off. When the latch pops off I have been able to cut a piece of a screen protector and wedge in on top of the flex cable. I doubt your part is bad I do this for a living and have never had a ipad digitizer that was bad. I have had iphone and ipod digitizers bad before though. I would also check for any damage to the flex cable.

Well, my guess would be that you recieved a faulty part. You should test all your parts before taking the thin clear protectors off of them, and make sure they are fully responsive. If you took the protectors off, you cannot return the part. So basically, you need to order another screen, and you wasted however much you spent on the new faulty one.

your digitizer is bad.. I get many right out of the box that are bad..

Remember this, the ribbon cable for the digitizer (and those on ipods and iphones also) are extremely fragile. If you twist or turn, or stretch this cable out, you may rip one on the internal leads..

PS Probably 20 percent of the digitizers that I buy are bad. I have even gotten them right out of the box with the connectors either missing, or it had fallen off and was in the bottom of the bag.. quality control on many of these 'clone' parts is not adequate at all.. *being nice*
