Connect this Display to a Vaio Laptop?

Hello, dear iFixit community.

Ich have an Apple LED Cinema Display 24", Late 2008 (1920*1200). It has a cable coming out of its back, which splits into 3 more cables, one MagSafe-Power cable, one USB cable and one Mini-Displayport cable. The cable is integrated in the display's back, so I can not take it out.

My question is, whether there is any kind of adapter for this display, so I can use it with my Sony Vaio Laptop. I would need to "convert" the male Mini-Displayport cable to a male VGA, HDMI, or whatever, cable.

Is there any possibility to do this?

Do you any numbers on the back of the display. It most likely is a LG panel, but you will require the pinouts etc for the panel of your display as well as for your Vaio. Problem with trying to do that is that you will need a driver board for the panel. It is not as easy as it may sound, there are a whole lot of signals that are being send to any LCD panel. Beside a signal board you will need an inverter circuit etc. If you are up to it, the datasheet will be a start, and a whole lot of reverse engineering will be needed. Hope this helps, good luck.
