Why won't my MacBook turn on?

When I turn on my macbook it stays at the white screen. I've repetitively turned it on and off to see if the problem would still occur, and it did. I can hear clicking sounds when it's on.

Answer this question I have this problem too

Is this a good question?

Can you give us the last four digits of your serial number so we can correctly identify your system. Also can you give us some background info on what happened before you encountered this problem. Did you drop it or get it wet? Did you have any other strange problems leading up to this point? Also do you have the OS-X disks that came with your system and do you have an external hard drive (firewire)?

If you can hear clicking sounds it's almost certainly a failed/failing hard drive. Newegg.com is a great place to buy new hard drives. You will need the original discs that came with the computer to reinstall. If you don't, take it to Apple and see what they can do for you.
