Volume isn't working after iOS update?

It literally had no issues until a few days after the iOS 6 update. Now I only have volume when someone calls me. I have no volume for videos that are on my phone or online. My keypad doesn't click and there's no sound when I send or receive a text. Only phone calls actually have an alert tone. I tried resetting my phone by holding the circle and power buttons and that didn't help. I've gone into my settings and tried turning on airplane mode but that did nothing too. I'm getting so annoyed!

I'm having this problem as well. Only started happening a few weeks after updating my 4s to iOS 6. The audio crash is system wide, the volume adjust slider disappears from all apps, stock or not, and can't get any sound. Not even from calls. Curiously Siri still talks except during turn by turn directions. I've tried everything the OP did as well as a system restore, but to no avail. Sometimes sound returns for a few fleeting seconds before disappearing again along with the volume adjust bars. WTF
