mid 2009 White MacBook's screen goes black randomly?

My macbook's screen goes black often, when i tilt the screen or push the luminosity scale to mid/max level with f2 button. I changed the inverter and cable and did all the resettings that in this case are suggested. Nothing has changed. Now my question is: I have an 2007 white macbook that I don't need anymore (keyboard is broken and other parts) and its screen works perfectly. Can I replace my screen with the one that works? Would that solve my problem? When apple says they would replace the lcd in order to fix it (expense that i can't afford) do they mean they would change the screen?
