Standard replacement of Macbook HDD

My Problem

The main O/S failed, and could not be repaired.

My Fix

Hardware - amazingly easy. Especially liked the fact the repair kit came with a cool little rubber external USB drive housing to use the old drive in. Software - not so much. I found no way to recreate the recovery partition on the new drive.

My Advice

When partitioning the drive, create the non-O/S partitions like the old drive. This is the boot partition and the recovery partition.
