What does an orange LED of the power cord mean?

History

The iBook will boot, but closes down straight away. Also the battery pack only shows a single flashing light. It appears that neither the computer or the battery are receiving power. I have tried another cord and are confident that the problem is not with the power cord.

The orange or amber light indicates that the unit is charging the battery. The green indicates the battery is charged or not seen. If you only have one light and it is flashing on the battery it is very low and needs to charge. Give it a few minutes to build a charge the power on the computer.

Thank you for your answer re: LED color. This confirms my suspicion that the unit is not receiving power as it has been 'charging' most of the morning and still boots but closes down straight away.
