There are red vertical lines in the black areas of my display. It looks like red snow on an old tv that needs to be tuned in. Not dead pixels. Anyway web page, desktop image,, etc.. the black areas look red. I also need to know how to open up my MacBook Pro A1150 model to get to the problem and the exact tools needed.

Follow the guide for directions and tools. If you connect to an external display and the problem follows you have a blown VGC(VPU) and would need to replace the logic board. There are no DIY repairs you can make to a bad VGC.
