gary, if your screen is hard to see, but your camera otherwise functions okay, I would replace the LCD. Even a camera LCD has a backlight and it is possible that this is no longer working. Of course, it is possible that the backlight driver on your logic board has failed. This is less likely and also more expensive and harder to fix. Go with a new LCD first. Hope this helps, good luck.
