Update

Yesterday I gave my MacBook Pro to the shop. They said they will send my MacBook Pro to professional Mac repair. They said my MacBook Pro should return less than 2 weeks, but they said (for example) I own HP, I should receive HP laptop 4 weeks (28 days limit). I asked them, what is wrong with my MacBook Pro, they have two different problem, A. Loose LCD cable or B. Malfunctioning graphics card, but they chose A. from their experience. I will let you know the result when my MacBook Pro is return. Thanks for help.

Update

Two days ago, I got email from PC World that my MacBook Pro returned to PC World and test is OK. They said repairman ordered new LCD Display and replaced my old display with new display. They didn't give me full description about this. But lucky I got free repair under a warranty. Thank you for help me.

I would first try resetting the PRAM/NVRAM by holding cmd+opt+P+R while powering the machine on, holding those four keys until you've heard the machine chime for the third time. With it occurring during a software installation it seems like a software issue rather than a hardware issue, which the PRAM reset should address.

An SMC reset would be more for a hardware issue but I've seen issues like this resolved as well. You can perform an SMC reset on your machine by connecting it to power, holding the left shift+ctrl+opt keys while pressing the power button for a few (3-5 is more than enough) seconds. If done correctly you should see your MagSafe's LED change from amber to green and then back again.

If neither of those were to fix it I would plug it into an external monitor to see if the half/half video persisted on the external display. If it does persist then it's a logic board, if it doesn't persist then it's possibly a display assembly though it's possible it could still be a logic board.

I realize it's too late to try any of that since you've already dropped it off but maybe it'll help someone in the future. Be sure to post how the shop ends up repairing it!

edit:

BTW, that first photo could totally be used as a mockup for an iPad running the Mac OS. My first thought was "That iPad isn't running iOS!"
