Hey!

The MacBook Air and the MacBook Pro Retina both use custom connectors.

There have been fitting SSDs for older MacBook Airs around, but Apple changed the design of the connector with the 2012 model. You should also note that the SSDs of the MacBook Air and the MacBook Pro Retina are not interchangeable.

Chances are however good that there will be compatible drives for both machines in the coming months.

Long story short: Currently NO, in a few months PROBABLY YES.

OWC are now selling SSDs for the newest MBAs! Check out this link: http://eshop.macsales.com/shop/SSD/OWC/A....

If the link doesn't work, google OWC for more info. Hopefully, OWC can provide upgradeable SSDs for the MBPRs!!

Its a REPLACEMENT drive. There are external adapters/housing to use the SSD module that you remove as an external drive (super fast one). Probably worth it for a 128GB SSD class usb 3.0 external disk that fits in your pocket. OWC also makes that adapter (part of a kit too).
