Why does it not restore

Firstly, thanks alot for the first post but I have a problem. When i restore my ipod it just blinks for a few seconds then it gets back on and is detected by itunes which asks me to restore again :-(. What do i do??please help

Hassan, which version iPod is it? How long has it been doing this? What have you tired to fix it? Have you tried to place it in disk mode and have you checked the diagnostics mode?

Hey oldturkey, its iPod video 5G 80GB, its been doing this since last week.I tried to restore it as mentioned above and it was successful to an extent, however I had no FAT32 format option so I formated it to exFAT with the allocation unit size as 32.By doing so, I then tried to restore it.The restoring worked.BUT after restoring it, the iPod reboots itself showing the apple logo then shows a bar loading and once the bar finishes loading it goes back to the same situation it was in at first, saying "connect to iTunes to restore" which I had just restored, I tried it several times but it brings me to the same point. And yes I have tried the diagnostic mode but I don't get past the 'Accessorize Test' so i simply reset it by pressing and holding the center and menu key together...please help

Place your iPod into disk mode and see if you can access your hard drive through the operating system. Right now I am leaning toward a bad drive....:-)
