Why wont my iPhone 4 light up?

if you shine it in the sun or a bright light you can clearly see the phone is on and the icons are on the screen, everyso often it flickers and lights up, but now it wont light up:((( some one help!! is it the motherboard??

bree, if you can see the icons when you apply a light source, or angle the screen, that means that your backlight is no longer working. Of course try a restore first. If that does not resolve it, you have a few things that you must look at. Number one being your LCD screen. Make sure that all the cables are connected properly and that you have no corrosion on the connectors. If the cables and connectors are okay, there are two possibilities. A. you need to replace the display assembly, or B. the backlight IC on the board has failed. Unless your know how to repair surface mounted components, you may have to find somebody to do that for you. I suggest you start with the display assembly. This is the guide for that repair. The backlight IC is available at places like this. Hope this helps, good luck.

Why wont my Iphone lite up ive tryed everything and it wont work even when it was fully charged. i was playing a game and it slowly turnes off pixel by pixel whats going on
