Tcon board fuse (input voltage) reads 11.7

TV Brand - TCL model is 40S6500fs

I am attempting to figure out the issues on my TV. The backlight and sounds are working. I found that there are some test points to diagnose which i did and found the fuse on the TCon board is less than 12V ( Same reading on both side). So what should i do next?Uploaded images here. Thank you for your time and responses.

Hi @manikanda30528

What is the make and model number of the TV?

Have you checked the 12V supply from the power board (or mainboard) to see what value it is?

It may be that 11.7V is what is being supplied so the voltage measured on the tcon board would be the expected voltage.

Sorry for not providing the required information. After surfing through the internet, i assumed that standard operating voltage is supposed to be more than 12( Usually of 12 to 15). Will upload images in my later comments.

TV Brand - TCL model is 40S6500fs. Country - India.

Also let me add another detail regarding my problem. Initially TV ran into a trouble where it displayed two screen alternatively on a loop - Full white screen and a grey background with DSLR cam viewfinder overlay like structure at the center.

Then i removed the ribbon and other removable connections to clean( just removed the dust and dirt). After connecting back , i turned on the TV only to find display went grey dark( no display)

@manikanda30528 that voltage is correct for your T-con board. WE need to know what make and model your TV is. We also nee to see your boards to really try and help you. So, post some well focused pictures of the boards with your Question. What you can check for now, are the ribbon cables. Remove those, make sure that the copper contacts are all intact, no tears on the cable and no corrosion. Then reinsert the cables

Since you have backlight and sound my concern is the main board as well as the scaler boards.. Again, post some pictures of all of your boards with your Question.

@manikanda30528 last image R hand side shows the DC-DC IC which is the common failure for your symptoms. White screen no image. Datasheets are not available, at least not that I can find them. Check the following points on the via's. That does mean that you will have to gently scrape of the green part from the Via (holes in the board).Let us know what the voltages are for each one I've marked.

UP1(IN518) is the prime suspect and if you change nothing else, that is the IC I would aim for.

@manikanda30528 sounds like your TV is either not creating an image (main board) or your panel in not getting the data for the video from the driver boards.

by

Current status of my TV is that. sounds and backlight working fine. Display showing nothing but grey.

What should i do to identify where the problem is..so that i can initiate the resolving steps . I only know about the test points on Tcon board such VGH,VGL VDD etc. Is the fuse voltage is okay? 11.7 is what it supposed to be?

Like you said..i had a look at the ribbons.. and it looking good , no signs of corrosion or something

by

@manikanda30528 yes, the fuse voltage is okay. What are the voltages for your Gamma IC?

by

You are assuming that i am used to IC repairs stuffs. I am just following random yt videos for it. So far i have managed to locate where VGH, VGL is and to find the fuse the voltage. VGH read 26V , VGL read minus 7 and JP5 read 3.27V. TV's metal body is used a ground (as suggested).

I could not identify the gamma or DC to DC IC so far for my TV. I just came to know that there is actually three different board- Main or mother board , Scalar board and Tcon board. Previously i thought Tcon body is the below long horizontal one and the other big one is the mother board. Can you pls view the images provided in the post to locate board? as depending on brand and model..boards could be integrated as one. I can upload more closeup pics if you want. I am watching few yt videos to properly locate gamma IC for now.

watch this yt from 15:05 , that model is 40 inches from TCL i think that slight Voltage deviation is the issue
