No top screen display, even after replacing

Going off of a previous post, I've been attempting to repair a friend's 3DS XL. After doing some work, the 3DS turns on but the top screen has no display. I replaced the top screen, but still have the same issue, it's as if nothing changed. I acknowledge that I may have messed up the ribbon cable to have the same issue, but I'm not sure what else to try. Is there anything else that could cause the top screen to have no display?

Answer this question I have this problem too

Hi!

Do you see any blacklight? Or is it completely turned off? Does it have the exact same issue as it had before?

I would try another top screen again, as it's most likely that the new screen is faulty again (or ribbon damage). Also check the upper screen connector on the motherboard if it's all OK.

If this doesn't fix it (and showing the exact same issue as before) it's probably motherboard related.

Okay, that is a good sign (motherboard related). Then probably you have a faulty screen :(...
