Is the iPhone 7 Plus screen interchangeable with the iPhone 8 Plus?

Hello got a quick question, everywhere I look online regarding this topic says nuh uh for a permanent fix, but my sister recently broke her phone very bad (screen is completely dead but everything else is alive). We already got her a new phone but she didn’t back up any of her pictures to the cloud so she really wants them back. I have my old 7 plus that the screen is busted but still lights up and has touch working, and all we need to do is unlock her iPhone, get it to the Home Screen, hit trust on the pop up that appears, then I can hook her phone up to my mac and get all her data. My question is: if I take out the iPhone 8 screen and plug in an iPhone 7 screen, will it work for just enough time to get this task done? Thanks

Answer this question I have this problem too

Generally, yes. It's not a perfect fit, but it's close enough for your task. The display connectors are identical, but the home button connector on the 8 Plus is slightly larger. Usually they will work fine interchangeably, and like I said, it should be absolutely fine for your purposes. In all probability, you can just leave the home button cable disconnected anyway and use assistive touch for home button function.

I don't expect you'll have issues.

Hey mate thanks for your reply. I saw somewhere that the phone won’t boot without the home button isn’t plugged in? And if something wacky happens between the two buttons I could swap out the two home buttons correct?
