Replacing/splicing MacBook Pro Retina 15" A1398 Wifi iSight cable

A while ago, I replaced my battery and fixed a speaker. But when I did, I broke the end of the iSight cable, so my camera no longer works. I have been fine with this for awhile. I did some research recently to see if I can just replace the cable and I found that this cable actually has other repercussions if it is not plugged in, like SMB not working correctly, which i have been experiencing.

So the question is, is it possible to just replace this cable? From my research I've ascertained that it would be much easier to just replace the entire display, but they are still expensive for a good one, and mine works fine. Alternatively, if it is not possible to replace the cable, end to end, would it be possible to splice a new connection at the end I broke? I realize this would be difficult, but im wondering if it is technically possible.

Thank you!!

To replace the camera cable you would need to fully dismantle and reassembly the display, which is very risky and requires some fine technical skills. I've never spliced that cable—I would assume it's possible but also somewhat difficult, and you likely won't be able to find a guide online. It might be best to consider getting a USB compatible webcam. Best of luck!
