3ds top LCD screen not turning on...?

A few days ago I bought a 3ds off ebay. where the retailer said the console was "not charging". After it had arrived, I tested that out but it was charging perfectly fine, however the top screen was black with vertical lines. Following this, I bought a new LCD screen part.

I attempted to replace it myself but in the end stages of the repair, I noticed the ribbon cable for the camera was completely torn in half, and also so was the left speaker.

I turned on the console and although I replaced the top screen, it's still black, now with horizontal lines! I'm thinking the 3ds top screen won't work without the camera being attached, or maybe the speaker but honestly I have no idea.
