Keyboard Cable Replacement Possible?

I recently replaced my DC/Sound board and upon reassembly, the keyboard stopped working. The track pad works fine. I would like to know if it is possible to replace the ribbon only, or do I need to replace the keyboard or top case to eliminate them before I put in a new logic board. Thanks for any help.

From what I see and remember the keyboard and cable are replaced as one unit. But the good news is you do not have to replace the top on this model to replace the keyboard.

Here are the instructions to replace the keyboard:

Here is the keyboard. You need to select the right one though. One is with Backlighting and the other is without Backlighting:

You will need a small tipped philips head screwdriver. One like the following would do:

Phillips #0 Screwdriver

Good luck

Thanks, at least I now know what I need. I hope replacing the keyboard will take care of the problem. It will certainly be cheaper than replacing the logic board! It would have been nice if you could just replace the ribbon, cest la vie!!
