Xperia XZ2 Screen not working after being disconnected while on.

Hi,

I opened my phone to figure out a problem with it (which I think I found). Then, I reassembled the phone in order to test it and make sure I hadn't broken it. It powered on fine but then I accidentally disconnected the screen while it was on.

Now the screen will not come on. I'm not even sure if the phone is even switching on. though it does vibrate once when I hold the power button, and 3 times when I hold the power button and vol up key so something is happening, I just can't see what.

Could it be that disconnecting the screen while it was on, broke the screen? Or the M/B?

I've ordered a new screen to try that but I just don't know if I've even identified the problem correctly and I'm not sure what to do now.

Any advice is appreciated.

Thanks in Advance,

David

@davidhoope99494 sounds like you shortened out the screen when you disconnected it. It appears as if your motherboard is still ok since it does vibrate appropriately. Try this, get a flashlight ( a real flashlight and not a cellphone) and in a dark room, turn your phone on and shine the flashlight at an angle against the screen. See if you can make out shapes or silhouettes of what your phone should be displaying. If you do you know you lost the backlight. Anyhow, a new display would be the first thing to replace.
