How to change faulty USB port

I have an issue which relates to the micro usb port on my Nexus S not working.

How hard or easy is it to change the port ?

I've looked at the disassembly here on the website and did not manage to see clearly how the USB port was connected to the board.

Best regards,

Daniel

I also have a problem with my USB port which I think might be solved by replacing it. Phone works as normal but I'm unable to charge or connect it to a computer via its USB port.

Just wondering if the original poster or anyone else tried replacing the USB port and how easy/hard it was?

Daniel Manolache, it is soldered onto the board and will require soldering to replace. The part itself is inexpensive so if you are hesitant to do it yourself, you might want to try a local TV repair shop. Parts are available at places like this
