How to fix a Family Edition Xoom with a Cracked Digitizer

History

I have a cracked screen/digitizer on my Family Edition Xoom and I have a few questions:

  1. Does the digitizer on the regular Xoom work with the Family Edition Xoom?
  2. Is there a tutorial on replacing the digitizer for this?
  3. Does anyone know how to open the tablet? The original Xoom has 2 screws that must be remove first, the FE doesn't have them.

I can answer the 1st question for you. No, the original xoom digitzer will not work for the family edition. I know because i ordered one from a company saying it should be the same, but it clearly was not. I myself am having a very difficult time finding parts or instructions on how to do this repair. Hope you have better success than me :)

I can believe how hard it is to find this. Others must have cracked the screen.
