Apple Watch Series 3: Should I replace my battery?

Hello!

I have an Apple Watch Series 3 that has been in storage for a long time: 3 years. However when I first opened up the box, the watch does not turn on. I have tried charging it, but no luck. No vibrations, or screen life. Nothing works even with a "hard" reset. However whenever I charge it, the watch does get warm. I was wondering if this is a battery issue, or could be a display issue?

@kneemo based on this "that has been in storage for a long time: 3 years", absolutely. The Apple Watch battery will have to be discharged below it's threshold and will definitely no longer hold a charge. Replace the battery, then re-evaluate. Apple Watch Series 3 Battery Replacement

Appreciate the response! Even though it gets warm, does it mean the battery is active though?

@kneemo getting warm could just be from your charging circuit trying to charge the battery. It means a charge is applied but will not get stored
