when disassembling I cant seem to get the keyboard and trackpad assembly free from the case. It will not lift up more than 1/8" and seems attached in the middle of the keyboard somehow. not on the edges. Yes I have taken out all the screws and disengaged the latches. My machine seems to be some weird hybrid though I did buy it from apple. What can I do? Is there some extra step not mentioned?

Hello cat, Just to be sure we are on the same page I am including a link to ifixits guide for removing your keyboard. If this is the guide you are using please indicate the step where you are having problems. If its not the guide you were using perhaps it will help you accomplish your repair. Good luck.
