I have the same problem. I managed to open it and found the tape unattached to the screen.

Any suggestions on how to glue it back?

@juanitam : was the taped ripped of f while openning or before ?

Yes, the tape kind of lost its stickiness. think I unscrewed it to open it. Anyway I threw it away
