Optical drive not spinning up

History

The CD does not spin. The laser unit and the spinner are brand new.

What do I need to change? I bought the entire disk unit that includes the motor of the spinner the laser lens and the cables included.

check to see that everything is plugged in properly and if that doesn't work you may have gotten a bad part

If you just bought it then it should be under some sort of manufacturer's warranty, so I suggest you get it replaced before you start voiding the warranty.
