Why is my screen dimming when it is angled past 30 degrees?

History

When I lift screen above about 30-40 degrees it dims so that it

can only be read by straining. If kept below above degrees it is normal but basically unusable. It also works fine with an external monitor.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Your PB inverter cable should be replaced. The cable is probably damaged in the display hinge and loose contact when moving the lid. Don't wait too long to do the repair cause the cable could short in the hinge and ruin your logic board.
