How do I replace the LCD cable to stop the LCD flickering problem?

I’m doing a project of fixing my old Xps 15z laptop starting by replacing the screen and the connector cable from the LCD to the motherboard (provided that it isn’t soldered).

Hi,

Here’s a link to the service manual for the laptop.

Scroll to p.81 to view the necessary pre-requisite steps and then the procedure to remove the display assembly. This will enable you to remove / replace the LVDS cable.

Replacement cables are available online. Just search for Dell XPS 15Z LVDS cable to get results for suppliers of the part.

Just an FYI, you may want to disable the Dynamic Refresh Rate settings in the Intel graphics program. I was having horrible screen distortion when running on battery, and after disabling it by unchecking the box it was fixed!
